Researching your Ulster Ancestry

Genealogy Researcher

I have been researching ancestry in Ireland for almost 20 years and have helped dozens of people discover their family history in that time.  Whether you live in America, Canada, Australia, New Zealand or indeed in the UK or Ireland, as long as your folks were living in Ireland in the middle of the 19th century and you have a good idea of where they lived in Ireland, then I should be able to locate them and produce a well documented family history for you, inclusive of a family tree.

My Research

Research involves constant investigating and redesigning of the scientific questions posed. The strength of my research lies in the breadth and depth of the experimental and statistical approaches I utilize in understanding the mechanisms that drive the systems I am studying. Learn more about my ongoing research projects below.

Research and Analysis

I will make use of online and local sources to research your family history, analysing the data and ensuring complete accuracy.  (Scouring archives in Dublin or Belfast is NOT an option as it would be prohibitively expensive.)

I will provide you with documentary evidence to support every link I make and every ancestor I document, using the 19th century land surveys such as the Tithe Applotment Books, the Griffiths Valuation, the Griffiths Valuation Revision Books, 20th century censuses, church records and civil records of Births Marriages and Deaths.

Family Tree

This is very much an interactive service and you can be just as much a partner in the research as you wish.  I will produce a family tree, updating it almost daily and sending amended versions to you as the research progresses, usually over a period of 8 to 12 weeks.

Visit

As part of the service, if you wish to visit the area where your ancestors were born and lived, I will take you on a conducted tour of the area and perhaps even meet your Irish "cousins".

Have a look at my genealogy Facebook page to see how many others have visited the area with me after I had researched their ancestry:https://www.facebook.com/westulstergenealogy/
